What's With All These Spectrums?
While you may be familiar with CBD strains, expanding your knowledge about CBD is always a good idea. Your decision to read this material demonstrates your willingness to learn more. It is commendable that you are making an effort to determine the best CBD product for your needs. Let's dive into the topic at hand: Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, and CBD Isolate are all concentrated extracts.
FULL or BROAD SPECTRUM AND CBD ISOLATE - AREN’T THEY ALL HEMP EXTRACTS?
Yes, they are, but they are not all the same. Although they are extracted from the same plant, they are created differently to meet specific needs.
Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, and CBD Isolate are all different types of hemp extract and refer to the varying levels of compounds found within the extract. Here are the differences:
Full-spectrum CBD contains all the natural compounds found in the hemp plant, including THC, which is present in amounts of up to 0.3%. These compounds work together to produce what is known as the "entourage effect," which is believed to enhance the benefits of CBD. Full-spectrum CBD products are more expensive than other types of CBD because of the additional processing required to maintain the correct ratio of CBD to THC. However, they may not be suitable for individuals who may be subject to drug testing, as even small amounts of THC can be detected in urine tests.
The broad spectrum contains all the natural hemp extract like include flavonoids, terpenes, plant sterols, fatty acids, and essential oils. What is missing from the broad spectrum is the THC. Many people refer to it as the midpoint between the full-spectrum and the isolate CBD, which it is by the way. Mind you, they all come as full-spectrum, but as they get processed, some of these properties get removed. For the broad spectrum, the THC gets extracted. But due to the different types of cannabinoids present, it tends to give the user what is called the entourage effect but no psychoactive effects.
Isolate CBD is cannabinoid, in its purest form. It has a purity of 99.9%. To achieve this, the other extracts like the flavonoids, terpenes, plant sterols, fatty acids, and essential oils would be extracted through a process called winterization process to make it purely CBD. It is not as demanding as the Broad spectrum or the full-spectrum because it doesn’t produce an entourage effect. You just benefit from the cannabinoid.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD & THC?
Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are both compounds found in the cannabis plant. The main difference between the two is that THC is psychoactive, meaning it can get you high, while CBD is non-psychoactive and does not produce the same "high" effect. THC is responsible for the intoxicating effects associated with marijuana, while CBD is known for its potential therapeutic benefits without the mind-altering effects.
ALWAY CHECK LAB REPORTS
Lab Test are important for all CBD products because it helps define the cannabinoid profile. Lab test also show if there are any harmful chemicals in your CBD.
